What can I say? It's Anaal Nathrakh. Highly aggressive (and treated) vocals layered over programmed blastbeasts and guitars that are 60/40 black metal/death metal, with predictable lapses into melody that all coalesce into a putrid melange of hatred and catharsis. One of their better albums to boot, behind ITCOTBW. Recommended.

This album is very nostalgic for me, as it's the first album that pushed me into the overall world of Death and Black metal. I remember being dissatisfied with most mainstream metal bands, thinking that I could never be an actual metalhead, because Disturbed and bands like them sounded too soft and fragile. But Anaal Nathrakh blew my mind, introducing me to a soundscape that was raw, carnal, and heavy as hell. This album nearly dislocated my spine when I was 17. And I am very thankful for that.
